The non-thesis route ends with either a design project or a written and oral comprehensive exam. Thesis students integrate graduate coursework with independent research, document the work in a thesis, and complete an oral defense. Qualified UNLV undergraduates can enter the integrated BS-MS route after meeting its admission rules.

UNLV’s aerospace engineering master’s offers thesis, non-thesis, and integrated routes across aerodynamics, propulsion, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and computation.

One master’s award and a 56.1 score fit engineers comparing multiple completion routes and technical aerospace preparation in Las Vegas.

Qualified graduate students can pursue teaching or research assistantships. Faculty members with grants or contracts select research assistants for their projects, and continued support depends on satisfactory academic standing and research progress as assessed by the adviser. The department links both forms of support to qualified graduate study.

Wichita State’s graduate aerospace route offers specializations in aerodynamics and fluid mechanics, structures, flight dynamics and control, and multidisciplinary design optimization.

For the federal aerospace master’s record, 9 awards and a score of 56 correspond to national position 68 within a 69-entry group.

Use the ranking well

Thesis, coursework, and professional space master’s degrees

The most important split is often thesis versus non-thesis, not the institution name. A thesis route can prepare you for research or a doctorate. A course-only or professional master’s may fit working engineers who want deeper technical breadth. Some departments offer both under one federal program record.

Compare admissions prerequisites, required credits, advisor matching, research access, final projects, time limits, and delivery. If you need an online option, use the separate online ranking because every program there has explicit school-published delivery evidence.

IPEDS can report a master’s award earned along the way to a doctorate even when a school does not accept applications to a separate master’s program. This ranking excludes five records where the official source makes that route limitation explicit; the complete field and state directories retain them as federal records with source context.

Keep narrowing the list

Move between field, degree-level, delivery, ownership, mission, cost, and state comparisons without changing the published program boundary.
