What does an aerospace engineer do?
Aerospace engineers turn mission requirements into designs that can be built and tested. The work includes evaluating technical feasibility, setting design and quality criteria, checking compliance, troubleshooting failures, and coordinating manufacturing and testing.

The working day
A day in the life of an aerospace engineer
A design day may begin with a review of test results or a problem reported by a manufacturing team. You compare the result with the requirement, model possible changes, and document why a revised design should be safer or more reliable.
The work moves between focused computer analysis and team decisions. You may explain a design tradeoff to another engineering group, inspect a damaged component, or stay late while a test is running so the team can diagnose a failure while the evidence is fresh.
