Degree context
How education connects to avionics technician pay
A general space studies degree is not the normal route; technicians typically add aviation maintenance education, employer training, military training, or the credentials required for their work.
An aerospace engineering degree does not automatically qualify someone to sign off aircraft maintenance. Avionics is a regulated, hands-on maintenance occupation with specific training, supervision, and credential rules.
The wage percentiles do not separate workers by degree or experience. Use the education requirement to decide whether the route is open to you, then use the state and national wage distributions to understand the market rather than treating one percentile as a personal forecast.
